05.01b ArgumentOpinion Prompt

You are about to begin a writing task session. The results of this task will be used to help me teach you writing this year and prepare you for the District Argument/Opinion Writing Assessment.

Your writing task will be completed in one hour/period. During this time, you should plan, write, revise, and edit. You will type your essay but you will not receive more time to re-type your writing. You will submit the draft. If you work steadily, you should be able to complete your work during this amount of time.

Important details:

• You will have 60 minutes for this task. Do not start the task, if you have less than 60 minutes.
• There will be a timer on the screen notifying you of the remaining time.
• If you have an IEP, 504, or ELL plan, please contact Ms. A to arrange the appropriate accommodations.
• You may access the text of your choice to cite during the assessment.
